Tri-State Scale Modelers is an International Plastic Modeler’s Society (IPMS) chartered club dedicated to the fun of Scale Modeling.  We strive to provide a friendly place for model builders of all skill levels.  We also provide a safe and encouraging place for young modelers to begin or improve their skills.  Our members model fictional and non-fictional aircraft, ships, figures and busts, dinosaurs and monsters, cars, trucks and military and emergency vehicles and other subjects.  Boys and girls, women and men of all ages with similar modeling interests are encouraged to attend.

Back in 1991, a small group of local model builders from West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania placed sign-up sheets in several local hobby shops to see if there was an interest in forming a local club to promote our hobby.  The results were impressive.  Our first meeting was held at the community college in Hagerstown, Maryland with over 50 people in attendance and we now continue to meet regularly at the American Legion Home on 405 Northern Ave, Hagerstown, MD.  In 1993, we became an IPMS chapter and have remained active since then.  We have even hosted two successful regional conventions (2002 & 2005).  Our meetings are informal with an emphasis on having fun and trading ideas.  We now average about thirty (30) people per meeting with seasonal fluctuations.  We also take road trips to other contests, shows and places of interest to modelers.

We update these pages at least monthly, often more frequently (New/Reviews, Events and Model Gallery particularly).  So, check back often and thanks for visiting us.
